이번 남지형의 ⟪겨울 속 봄⟫에는 120호 대작과 목조각 2점을 비롯해 크고 작은 42점의 신작이 선보입니다. 그동안 일관되게 보여준 ‘남지형의 시각’을 한 자리에서 가늠할 수 있는 소중한 기회가 될 것입니다. 여러모로 어수선하고 추운 연말에 ‘겨울 속 봄’으로 따뜻한 위로를 받아보면 어떨까요?
We are pleased to present an exhibition by artist Nam Jihyung, who explores the concept of “beautiful harmony of symbiosis,” where diverse kinds of animals coexist within a single canvas. “Symbiosis” is often defined as “a collaboration between two or more organisms for mutual existence.” In truth, few words can convey tenderness as profoundly as this one. Scenes enriched with thoughtfulness and trust, where different beings coexist in harmony, fill our hearts with warmth simply by imagining them. Nam Jihyung’s exhibition Winter Cradles Spring evokes even more profound and heart-touching emotions, particularly during this season.
Among the various forms of life, the “utopia built together” is something that can inspire empathy and hope in everyone. Experiencing the silky aroma of life that emerges from Nam Jihyung’s brushstrokes is akin to savoring a harmonious piece of music. His work precisely captures an “image of the ideal society,” where collective effort is devoted to achieving a shared goal for the survival and sustainability of the community. As viewers, we can transform into tigers, ducks, butterflies, or even polar bears. It doesn't matter what we turn into, because we are all like a family, united in spirit and heart.
