‘캔버스’라는 ‘창’을 통해 소통하는 예술가들은 고유의 정서와 감성으로 ‘나’를 세상과 분리하는 동시에 마주하는 대상들과 분리시키며 하나의 독립된 실체로 인식합니다. 개별 존재들은 자신만의 방식으로 ‘나’와 ‘나의 것’을 정립하고 ‘나의 세계’를 구축합니다. 자신의 삶을 반성하고 성찰하며 고유의 관점을 시각화하기 시작한 신진작가들을 초대하여 «Wavy Wave» 전시를 마련했습니다.
전시는 단일한 주제 아래 모인 것이 아닌 각기 다른 개성 및 다양성과 함께 앞으로의 작업 세계를 주목하고자 기획되었습니다. 11인의 신진 작가들의 행로는 잔잔히 흐르는 물결처럼 아직은 큰 파동이 감지되지 않습니다. 작가로서의 정체성, 주제 의식, 매체의 탐구 등 개인마다 지향점이 다른 만큼 세상을 바라보는 다양한 시선과 해석이 존재합니다. 잠재된 가능성을 깨우려하는 젊은 작가들의 작품세계를 함께 감상하시길 기대합니다.
Artists who communicate through the “window” of the canvas define themselves as independent entities, simultaneously separating themselves from the world and from the subjects they encounter—each through their own unique sensibility and emotional lens. Individual beings establish their identity and personal realms in their own ways, shaping what is “mine” and building “my world.” With this in mind, Wavy Wave invites a group of emerging artists who have begun to reflect on their lives and visually articulate their distinct perspectives.
This exhibition is not unified under a single theme but instead embraces a spectrum of individuality and diversity, aiming to highlight the future directions of each artist's creative journey. Like gently flowing waves, the paths of these eleven emerging artists may not yet form large ripples. Each pursues different goals—whether in artistic identity, subject matter, or exploration of media—resulting in a wide range of perspectives and interpretations of the world. We invite you to explore and experience the unique and unfolding worlds of these young artists as they awaken their latent potential.
