Lee Changnam (b. 1964) graduated from the Department of Painting at the College of Fine Arts, Seoul National University. Attentive to the scenes of everyday life, Lee distills the atmosphere of color created by light and shadow into painting. He also captures the shifting currents of a space as it changes with the seasons and the weather, transforming objects from things that are merely “seen” into aesthetic subjects of “lingering light.” Since his first solo exhibition at Gallery Icon, Seoul, in 1994, Lee has held numerous solo exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions at venues including Hakgojae Gallery (Seoul, 2016), Leeahn Gallery (Daegu, 2018), Lee Hwaik Gallery (Seoul, 2022–24), PEYTO Gallery (Seoul, 2023), Culture Station Seoul 284 (Seoul, 2025), and Obscura (Seoul, 2025). His work is held in the collection of the MMCA Art Bank (National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea) as well as in private collections.
