남지형
남지형(b.1987)은 울산대학교 미술대학에서 서양화를 전공했다. 그동안 아리아갤러리, 온유갤러리, 갤러리 씨, 인사아트갤러리 등 국내에서 15회의 개인전과 맥화랑, 울산문화예술회관, 선화랑, 가나아뜰리에 등에서 기획한 다수의 그룹전에 참여했다. 작가는 자연세계의 약육강식이나 순환의 구조를 벗어나 북극곰, 펭귄, 뱅갈호랑이 등을 한 화면에 배치하여 초현실적인 분위기를 자아낸다. 이는 ‘공생’하는 행복한 세상으로 나아가기를 희망하는 작가의 바람이기도 하다. 울산미술대전(2016)에서 대상을 수상하였으며 작품은 국립현대미술관 미술은행(서울, 과천)과 개인 컬렉션에 소장되어 있다.
Nam Jihyung (b.1987) majored in Western Painting at the College of Fine Arts at University of Ulsan. To date, he has presented 15 solo exhibitions at various venues in South Korea, including Aria Gallery, Onyou Gallery, Gallery The C, and Insa Art Gallery. He has also taken part in numerous group exhibitions organized by institutions such as Gallery MAC, Ulsan Culture & Arts Center, Sun Gallery, and Gana Atelier. Nam Jihyung explores themes beyond the natural world’s cyclical rhythms and the law of the jungle, bringing together polar bears, penguins, Bengal tigers, and other creatures on a single canvas to evoke a surreal atmosphere. Through this approach, he aims to express his vision of a harmonious world where all creatures “coexist”peacefully. In 2016, he received the Grand Prize at the Ulsan Art Exhibition. His works are part of the collections at the Art Bank of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (in Seoul and Gwacheon) as well as in private collections.
