LIM HEEJO
임희조
임희조(Lim Heejo, b.1988)는 동국대학교 예술대학 미술학부와 동대학원에서 서양화를 전공했다. 임희조의 작업은 색채와 형상이 서로 밀고 당기며 만들어낸 시각적 질서 위에 세워진다. 정확히 맞물릴 것 같으면서도 어긋나는 색들, 의도된 것 같지 않으면서도 화면의 균형을 지켜내는 구도 속에서 ‘서툰 행복’이라는 감정의 실마리를 잡는다. 타이틀 《서툰 행복》으로 아리랑 갤러리(부산, 2022)와 창성동 실험실(서울, 2021)에서 개인전을 개최하였으며 거제문화예술회관(거제, 2024), 갤러리 나우(서울, 2024). 청화랑(서울, 2023), 울산국제아트페어 특별전 “심벌즈” (울산, 2023), 아트소향(부산, 2021) 등 다수의 그룹전에 참여한 바 있다. 작품은 서울시 문화본부 박물관과, 한국교과서협회 연수원 등 기관 및 개인 컬렉션에 소장되어 있다.
Lim Heejo (b. 1988) majored in Western painting at the College of Fine Arts and the Graduate School of Fine Arts at Dongguk University. Lim Heejo's work is built on a visual order created by the push and pull of colors and shapes. The colors that seem to mesh together but are actually mismatched, and the composition that seems unintentional but maintains the balance of the canvas, capture the feeling of “growing into happiness.” He held solo exhibitions at Gallery Arirang(Busan, 2022) and CL Gallery (Seoul, 2021) with the title “Growing into Happiness,” and will hold exhibitions at The Geoje Art Center(Geoje, 2024) and Gallery Now (Seoul, 2024). She has participated in numerous group exhibitions, including Chung Art Gallery(Seoul, 2023), Ulsan International Art Fair Special Exhibition 《Symbols》 (Ulsan, 2023), and Art Sohyang (Busan, 2021). The artworks are held in the collections of institutions and private collections, including the Museum department of the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Training center of the Korean Textbook Association.
